University Counselling

Exploring and planning for the future

At Crescent Heights Academy, we are committed to preparing students for a vibrant life after high school. Our University Counselling Program is specifically tailored to each student’s unique needs and aspirations. Guided by our school’s CARE philosophy, every aspect of the university counselling process is imbued with Character, Ability, Relationships, and Exploration. At Crescent Heights Academy (CHA), we encourage introspection and reflection so students can uncover their professional and academic ambitions as early as Grade 10. This knowledge empowers them to pursue their post-secondary goals and excel in their fields of interest. So ultimately, they can effortlessly navigate the often-complex university application process.

Character lies at the heart of it all. Our approach incites each and every student to look inward so they can better understand themselves and identify their purpose. This process is about discovering strengths, exploring passions, and setting meaningful goals. Our University Counsellor, who doubles as a senior careers teacher, maintains an open-door policy. Students know they can drop by any time to ask questions or talk through challenges. Whether it’s individual meetings or group discussions, every student can find support, encouragement, and mentorship fit for their needs.

Our CARE philosophy ensures that the University Counselling Program does more than prepare students academically. We equip them with the confidence, skills, and self-knowledge they’ll need to thrive beyond CHA. Our graduates leave with more than just a plan—they have a purpose. They’re ready to lead, innovate, and contribute in meaningful ways to the world around them.

Our Graduates

As students progress through their educational journey at CHA, our focus evolves to match their growing aspirations—sharpening our emphasis on developing their critical and creative thinking as they envision future possibilities. This transition is supported by a robust framework of academic planning and career mentorship, equipping students with the tools they need to thoughtfully navigate their choices. When application season arrives, they benefit from personalized support at every stage—from detailed reviews and essay coaching to scholarship guidance—ensuring they approach the process with both preparedness and confidence.

Equally central to our approach is the cultivation of strong, meaningful relationships. We encourage students to build lasting connections within the CHA community and beyond—fostering relationships with teachers, peers, and post-secondary representatives. Through university visits, parent engagement evenings, and mentorship initiatives, we create a collaborative network where families are active participants in each student’s journey.

We also believe in the transformative power of exploration. At CHA, students are invited to envision broad possibilities for their future. They delve into diverse career options, investigate a range of academic programs, and reflect on the kind of impact they hope to make as emerging leaders. Through leadership roles, experiential projects, and opportunities that nurture entrepreneurial thinking, students are challenged to approach the future boldly—ready to solve problems creatively and engage deeply as global citizens.

The university counselling journey at CHA is intentionally designed to be progressive and supportive, guiding students step by step as they prepare for post-secondary success.
